Also known as Lal Qila, the Red Fort is a 17th century impressive fort complex built by great mughal emperor Shah Jahan who also built world famous love monument the Taj Mahal in Agra. This impressive fort complex is located on the eastern edge of the walled city of Old Delhi on the western banks of the river Yamuna. The construction of this magnificent fort complex began in the year of 1639 and completed in the year of 1648. Today, the magnificent Red Fort has become one of biggest attractions of India tourism. Entrance
There are two major entrances to enter inside the Red Fort Complex. They are Delhi Gate and Lahore Gate. The main entrance is the Lahore Gate. The fort complex remains open for tourists on all days from 9:00 AM to 6:00 Pm. The entry fee is Rs 10. If you want to take your camera, you will have to pay Rs 25 extra for that.
