Travel to Coyhaique in Southern Chile by David Ven

Coyhaique is the Capital of Chile's distant XI region. The city was founded in 1929 and had a slow growth until the construction of the Carretera Austral in the eighties. Since then, Coyhaique has begun to grow to reach the present population of about 45000 inhabitants. The word Coyhaique means "landscape of lakes" in the language of the original inhabitants of the region the Tehuelches.

The best time to visit Coyhaique is in the austral summer season, from late November to early April. In winter the temperatures could be extremely cold with the possibility of snowfalls. In the City itself, it's worthwhile to visit the Reserva Nacional Coyhaique, 5km north of the town. In this natural reserve you can find many native and exotic flora as well as a wide variety of birds. Besides, you can visit the small local museum in the pentagonal Plaza de Armas. However, it is in the beautiful scenery, full of mountains, rivers, lakes and forests, which surrounds the city where the main tourist attractions are found.

Yes, Coyhaique is synonym of outdoor activities. The rivers Simpson, Aisén and Baker are excellent for fly fishing. There are also some lakes where the trout, thanks to the plentiful of food and the unspoiled water, got amazingly developed. However, because of the geography of the landscape these lakes are best fished on a boat. Rio Simpson has also excellent sections to the lovers of rafting and kayak, some parts even are tamed enough to let to the occasional tourist enjoy rafting too. Another activity near the town of Coyhaique is horse riding, an ideal way to enjoy the nature and fauna of the region. At last, Coyhaique has nearby two Reserves: Recerva Nacional Rio Simpson and Reserva Nacional Cerro Castillo that are fantastic for trekking.

Coyhaique and the Aisén region were neglected as tourist destinations for many years because of the lack of population and the inaccessibility of the region. Today these same reasons turn Coyhaique into a paradise for nature enthusiasts from all around the world.

Sometimes too Good to be, is True by Richard M Hansen

Most times when it sounds too good to be true it usually is, but not this time. If you need a vacation, want a vacation, or love to travel do yourself a favor and read on. Just becomes something sounds too good to be true doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't true. If you think that statement is false or not worth further investigation, then stop reading here. If you decide to read on, be willing to keep an open mind and not deny yourself the opportunity to investigate for yourself and discover if what seems to be "too good to be true" actually is true or not.

If you are the type of person who loves to travel, or take vacations with your family, then you really should take a look at the travel club I discovered. If you have always been one that has wanted to see the world but thought it too expensive to travel, then you too need to seriously consider becoming a member like I did. But the great thing is, you don't have to become a member to find out what becoming a member will save you. This vacation club I am talking about will make vacationing and travel a reality for those that never thought they could afford such things. Making it possible to vacation and travel to those places you have always dreamed of. Before you give up on reading this, and say that whatever sounds too good to be true usually is, you really should check out all the resorts and vacations spots that are offered and at prices that shouldn't be true, but are. If you only take one vacation every two or three years because it takes that long to be able to afford a real vacation in the places you actually want to vacation in, then you really owe it to yourself to see what membership has to offer.

I'm going to tell a little story from my perspective that might give you a reason to at least look at what the club membership has to offer. I have worked my entire adult life and had only one real vacation. I was almost 50 when I had my eyes opened to this amazing vacation membership club. I'm sure that you can rationalize my misfortune by saying it was because I never planned well enough or saved enough, worked hard enough or that vacationing wasn't that important to me. All good points but you would be wrong. My problem has been, since my kids were born at least, that it has been entirely too expensive for me to take my entire family on a vacation.

Oh sure we could do the one or two day short trip vacations to the nearest city to the overcrowded tourist trap spots like the zoos museums or water parks. But how many of those can you stand before everyone gets sick of them. What do you do when the wife wants to go to someplace like Tahiti or Jamaica where there are white sand beaches and lots of sunshine. Or what about when your kids want to go scuba diving or snorkeling rather than seeing the same types of amusement parks over and over.

How long can you live on your dreams of someday being able to afford those types of vacations that you see in the magazines? Those dreams of being able to take the entire family to see and do the great things the world has to offer can be a reality for a lot less then you even imagine. It was a lot less than I ever dreamed it could be. And notice that I said "see and do the great things of the world", not just the United States.

If A year ago someone had told me that I could get 5 to 7 night stays for my entire family at the world's top resorts any time I wanted them, for as little as $298 for the rest of my life, no matter how may vacations a year I took. I am pretty sure I would have told them they were just plain crazy. I would have been one of the first to use the old adage that whatever sounds too good to be true usually is. In fact I did just that, I never believed a friend of mine when he told me about how he was doing that very thing. Vacationing in different exotic spots several times a year and paying peanuts for it. The destination spots sounded too good, the pricing was way below a price that I could believe was real. And so I turned my head and scoffed. That was until I noticed that my friend was spending a lot more time on vacation then he normally did each year, in fact now he was taking several vacations a year. I have known the man for 30 years, and I know he is not a man of great means. So I have to admit it got my curiosity up, but when he started showing me the pictures of the places he and his wife had been vacationing in I knew there had to be something to what he had been telling me. I mean when I saw pictures of my friend and his wife sitting in a spa in a very well known resort that is usually associated with the trendy elite I couldn't help be take notice. How could this be true, now could this simple work a day world man that I had known for 30 years afford these types of vacations?

I started asking questions about the club he had joined. I asked about everything and he was kind enough to explain it to me, enough so that I checked it out myself. When I finally checked the club out myself, I became a member and am I ever glad I did. Now after thirty years of not being able to afford to take real vacations, I can finally afford to vacation in the places I have always dreamed of. Not only can I afford vacations for my wife and myself, but for my entire family. The sad thing is that had I known about this opportunity sooner, I could have had so many more pleasant vacation memories to share with my family and friends. I won't miss out on having those memories ever again.

There are many very special things about the club that are too numerous to mention in this short venue but one thing regardless of what else you take away from what you have just read, remember, the club is a one time (lifetime) membership that becomes an asset you can pass along to your children much like an annuity or other investment. If you have read this far and haven't at least decided to check out the club, I feel for you, if you have decided to check it out, then I say congratulations and well done. It costs you nothing, let me repeat that, it costs you absolutely nothing to learn about what this opportunity has to offer and find out if it is a match for the type of vacationing and traveling you want to do. Take "afford" out of the statement for now, because once you see what becoming a member can offer you in terms of top resort and vacation spot packages, affordability will not be that much of a concern. You will be amazed at the places you will be able to vacation in, for prices you never thought remotely possible.

Caribbean Weather -- Good Months to Visit There by Scott Bateman

Caribbean weather is predictably warm year-round, and the rain is fairly predictable as well.

That's because of the annual Caribbean hurricane season, which official runs from June 1 through November 30. But the worst of the weather usually hits in August, September and October.

It is during those months that most Caribbean destinations have the fewest number of visitors.

The Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and North Atlantic face an average of 11 tropical storms or storms that become hurricanes each year, according to the National Hurricane Center at the National Weather Service.

Historically, August averages three tropical storms with two becoming hurricanes, September has four storms with two becoming hurricanes and October has two storms, of which one becomes a hurricane.

Most Caribbean destinations have daytime high temperatures from the low 80s Fahrenheit during the winter months to the mid- to upper-80s Fahrenheit during the summer, according to the World Meteorological Organization.

However, cooler ocean waters during the winter make December through February less popular for Caribbean visitors, especially in the northern destinations.

Unknown Miami by Jesse Henson

Miami, Florida is one of the most popular destinations for families and young travelers in search of pristine beaches, upscale designer shopping and a fabulously exotic nightlife. Beach-lovers flock to the city every year to visit, attend college, or enjoy a life filled with finer scenery and luxuries than many American cities are able to offer.

The most popular areas of Miami are South Beach and Biscayne Bay. However, several largely unknown districts in the city provide plenty of opportunity to explore and truly absorb the local culture, appreciate the historic influences on the city's development, and even discover more affordable living options than the glamorous high-rises lining the beaches.

Just north of the new Performing Arts Center, the up-and-coming Design District offers young and hip travelers the chance to absorb local art galleries, live theater and music, and the conveniences of suburb living. This area stretches all the way north to 60th Street, and also offers reasonably priced accommodations and living facilities.

Little Havana is perhaps one of the best areas of Miami to visit for anyone who loves Cuban culture and food. Streets are lined with colorful buildings, signs and decor paying homage to the largely Cuban population found there. Located several blocks inland, it's a great area to simply relax and people watch, enjoy genuine Cuban cuisine, and maybe even get your hands on a legendary Cuban cigar or two. Little Havana offers easy access to local freeways and very inexpensive accommodations and shopping.

Anyone who loves the life and style of the Caribbean will find some time in the midst of Little Haiti quite refreshing, too. With a population of a little over 33,000 that is largely Haitian, several locally-owned businesses line the streets offering colorful clothing, pottery and primitive art. Little Haiti is also the location of the historic Buena Vista district, where Mediterranean-style homes are the norm and the Little River commercial district is experiencing a revival.

Art lovers flock to the Wynwood/Edgewater area of Miami to tour several art galleries and studios in the middle of the Wynwood Arts District. The area has been undergoing a long revitalization, and its growing population loves to discover local artists' work on display and for sale, as well as visit the many exhibits that rotate on a regular basis. All ages can enjoy the workshops, art instruction, and festivals. There are also rehearsal spaces and music studios that cater to a large population of local musicians living there.

West Flagler, another largely unknown part of Miami, is where the new Miami-Dade County Auditorium is located that seats 7,000 audience members. The building's cutting-edge acoustics make it a popular destination for theater and live music enthusiasts. Symphonies, orchestras, bands, operas, live plays and even regional and national musical acts frequently entertain the locals there.

Another attraction found in Flagler that caters to locals year-round is the Flagler Dog Track and Sports Entertainment Center. The track features greyhound races from June to November every year, and enthusiasts can also enjoy the sports bar, clubhouse and game room found in the center. Anyone exploring Flagler on the weekend will likely be able to catch the local flea market that is housed in the center as well.

The east end of Coconut Grove is located within walking distance to many bars, restaurants, gyms and Biscayne Bay. Many University of Miami students choose to live in this neighborhood for its easy access to the prime nightlife, as well as the added advantage of slightly lower rent.

The Brickell area of Miami is currently under construction and offering new condos and high-rise offices to anyone looking for easy access to the beach without the cost. Located mere minutes from Coconut Grove and South Beach, this part of the city offers less expensive housing and promises a continually-growing community.

The finest medical and research centers in the country are found in Allapattah, where a mix of South and Central American and Caribbean influences have contributed to the growth of the largest industrial area of Miami. Allapattah serves as home to several garment manufacturers and wholesale outlets that are frequented by Latin and Caribbean exporters. The local Produce Market is also the largest open-air food distribution center in Miami, and serves the local markets.

In addition to these areas, unknown Miami also spreads into the local suburbs that offer wonderful removed comfort for those that want to escape the activity or spend some resting family time. Kendall, Westchester and Sweetwater all feature local parks and recreation centers, modern shopping centers and largely quiet neighborhoods that cater to families of all ages.

Why Americans Are Traveling To Mexico For Medical Care by Paulo Yberri

Everyone in America is talking about healthcare reform, skyrocketing medical costs, and the increasing inability of average Americans to afford even the most fundamental medical and dental care due to unreasonably high costs. The news is full of statistics: 45 million people are without health insurance, and that figure is increasing every month as unemployment soars. Another 45 million are 'under insured' -that is, with out-of-pocket costs and deductibles so high that they are unable to afford doctor and hospital fees when the need arises. More than 110 million are currently without dental insurance and unable to get the care they need. Yet even the uninsured have another option. In response to rising healthcare costs at home, more U.S. citizens have gone abroad to take advantage of the excellent doctors and dentists available through medical tourism to Mexico.

Convenient, significantly less expensive, and featuring the same or a better quality of care, sophistication of treatment, and breadth of medical services as the U.S., Mexico's state-of-the-art private hospitals make medical tourism to Mexico an ideal solution for anyone struggling with the high cost of medical expenses in America. Medical travel connects patients with new, modern facilities located in upscale residential and international business districts. There are a number of prominent Mexican hospitals in cities such as Tijuana, Monterrey, Juarez, Mexicali, Guadalajara, and Mexico City regularly working with medical travelers from all parts of the globe to treat all types of medical issues. For example, Mexico hospitals host American and Canadian patients for orthopedic, spinal, cardiology, cosmetic, and weight loss surgery and dental procedures on a daily basis.

Cost Is The Major Issue

Medical travel to Mexico is more popular than ever before, but traveling to Mexico for treatment is not a new idea. Residents of the southern states have long taken advantage of the inexpensive health care across the border, with many taking advantage of medical travel on a monthly basis. Currently, nearly one million Californians make regular use of the Mexican health care system, crossing the border for check-ups, prescriptions, family dentistry, and surgeries of all types. Some 1.5 million Americans have taken the further step of retiring to Mexico, taking advantage of the lower cost of living, temperate climate, and access to affordable health care. For as little as $250 a year, Americans who move to Mexico are able to receive medical care with no deductibles, low cost x-rays, eyeglasses, dental work, and free prescription medicines.

In its report, "Medical Tourism: Consumers In Search of Value," the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions estimates about 5 million Americans traveled abroad for medical care in 2009. Researchers expect this number to grow substantially, rising to over 20 million within ten years. Medical tourism destinations vary, but for Americans Mexico is the ideal solution. In Mexico, Americans can get the same quality and standards of care for less than half the cost of the same procedure stateside - often working with surgeons who have train and practice in the US, and work closely with American medical device manufacturers. For some procedures, the difference in cost is even greater, costing only a third of the American price in Mexico. The tens of thousands of patients who come to Mexico each year know how significant those savings are, even after factoring in travel costs.

Lack Of Insurance Increases The Demand For Low-Cost Healthcare

Sadly, many Americans do not have adequate health insurance to cover the high costs of necessary medical care. With record job losses and a continuing economic recession, Americans continue to lose employer-sponsored medical insurance at an unprecedented rate, forcing them into expensive COBRA payments of up to $12,000 per year, and declaring medical bankruptcies at a rate of 2 million per year. Frustrated with the broken American health care system, more Americans than ever before are discovering that they can receive the same high quality medical care and identical prescription drugs at a much lower cost in Mexico than they can get domestically. According to research by the U.S. Medical Tourism Association, the vast majority of U.S. patients who have taken advantage of medical travel to Mexico rate their experience as equivalent and even superior to U.S. hospitals and doctors.

Savvy employers in Texas, California, and South Carolina are joining this trend, taking the step of investing in Mexican health care programs for their employees frequently at one-fifth the cost of American health coverage. These plans are significantly less expensive for employers as compared to traditional American medical insurance programs. Employees also save on deductibles and out-of-pocket costs as well as on prescription medication costs. The fact that most hospital medical travel packages include such extras as travel coordination services, lab work, and hotel stay makes medical tourism to Mexico, even more appealing.

Convenience And Travel Options

Residents of Arizona, California, and Texas have long crossed the border to major Mexico cities such as Tijuana, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Juarez for sophisticated medical care in state-of-the-art hospitals, most less than five years old. Nearly half of all American citizens live within driving distance of the major Mexico hospitals regularly serving medical travelers. For everyone else, there are frequent and inexpensive flights to the major destinations for medical tourism in Mexico, making it easy to get quality, affordable health care just a short car ride or flight away.

Without doubt, medical tourism to Mexico has done more than any other industry to put high quality medical care within financial reach for all American citizens. Mexico hospitals are responding by teaming with experienced medical tourism facilitators, hotels, resorts, and airlines to create discounted travel and lodging options for Americans coming to Mexico for their medical care. These complete packages ensure that American patients get access to the best possible medical teams, but are also able to enjoy a stress-free recovery period. A good medical tourism facilitator will handle everything, allowing the patient to focus on the most important part of treatment: your recovery. With a comprehensive company and the right hospital, medical tourism to Mexico, is a great choice for any American.

TAHOE by Sondra Kiriakis

Welcome to TAHOE [Pronunciation: tä-ˌhō].

Tahoe is a crystal clear lake located high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The lake and its surrounding area which is commonly referred to as Tahoe, has an elevation of 6225 feet. Lake Tahoe is twenty two miles long and 12 miles wide and has a shoreline that extends over 71 miles. This gorgeous lake is shared by two US states, namely California which stakes claim to 42 miles Tahoe's shoreline and the state of Nevada which has 29 miles of it. Lake Tahoe which is the largest alpine lake in North America is renowned for its almost translucent waters that are known to evoke feelings of wonder and awe. In fact, when the famous American author Mark Twain first set his eyes on the Tahoe Lake during his visit to the area in the late 1860's he described it as "the fairest picture the whole earth affords."

Accommodations in Tahoe Tahoe Vacation Rentals are popular for family vacations around the entire Tahoe basin. To find accommodations in Tahoe simply do a Google search and type in the following:

"Reserve Tahoe Rentals" "Book Tahoe Rentals" "Reserve Tahoe Vacation Rentals etc... ."

Here you will find local companies that offer all types of accommodations. From homes, cabins, condos, chalets, cottages perched on the hillsides around the lake. These rentals range from budget to some really fancy lake front mansions. Dog friendly rentals in Tahoe are popular as travelers from the San Francisco Bay Area bring their families on vacation including pets. A local company offering an abundant amount of Tahoe rental cabins and homes is http://www.ReserveMyHome.com for Tahoe accommodations.

Tahoe Vacation rentals make economic sense Vacation rentals are in fact a popular accommodation choice in Lake Tahoe which is quite a family-centric destination. Hiring a vacation rental in Lake Tahoe often makes economic sense for a family or large group that wishes to vacation together as it reduces the expenses that are associated with booking individual hotel rooms.

A locale of unmatched beauty The area Lake that is named "Tahoe" which was created by volcanic activity was first discovered by an American called John C Fremont in 1844 but before that the Lake and its forested surrounding area was home to the Washoe Indian tribe who called the Lake 'big sky lake' in honor of its sparkling, blue and clear waters. Lake Tahoe has an average depth of 989 feet and at its deepest point the lake reaches a depth of 1,645 feet. However the Lake is not too conducive to swimming as the waters of the lake are often very cold even during the peak summer months. Moreover it is also known to have extremely strong and treacherous currents. Another interesting fact about the lake, is that this lake doesn't drain into an ocean even though nearly sixty-three streams flow into it, rather it drains into the Pyramid Lake located in the Nevada desert by way of the Truckee River. Apart from the beauty of the lake, the area around Lake Tahoe is also characterized by crisp, clear air, dense forests and much tranquility.

Tahoe's Amenable weather This high mountain area is blessed with agreeable weather as a result of which it has now become an immensely popular year round destination for Americans. Philadelphia's Top Ten Tourist Attractions by Ryan D. Hogan

When people hear the term "tourist attraction" they often think of cheesy destinations designed to take advantage of the traveler's ignorance and to take their money. Instead of an organic and genuine experience of some unique locale, the visitor is usually bombarded with commercialized mascots, tacky trinkets and cheap exhibits.

However, one cannot judge Philadelphia and its tourist attractions in quite same way. The City of Brotherly Love is home to historic, cultural, athletic and culinary destinations that attract out-of-town visitors while still offering an authentic experience of what it's like to live in Philadelphia and what it's like to be a Philadelphian.

While the city has dozens of such places to visit we've narrow the list down to the top ten. They are in no particular order except we started with the one attraction most associated with Philadelphia, Independence National Historical Park.

10. Independence National Historical Park

This historical park is a shrine to not only the city and its role in the American Revolution but to the concepts of liberty and democracy. The visitor center is located at the corner of 6th and Market Street in Center City, Philadelphia. The park itself covers several blocks.

The national park includes a number of buildings and attractions that are straight out of American history including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Congress Hall, Washington Square, First and Second Bank of the United States, and Franklin Court.

Admission to the park is free but tickets are required for tours of Independence Hall. You can reserve tickets online or by phone.

The park is open every day except Christmas. Most exhibits and buildings are opened from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. although hours are extended during the summer.

9. Fort Mifflin

Another historical landmark in the city of Philadelphia is Fort Mifflin. This fortification played a huge role in American Revolution and was used by the U.S. Military until 1954.

Mifflin is located on Fort Mifflin Road and Hog Island Road. The site is opened from March to December, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 pm.

8. Eastern State Penitentiary

This may sound like an odd destination but the Eastern State Penitentiary is one of Philadelphia's most interesting and enduring landmarks.

The ESP opened in 1829 and housed prisoners until 1971. Now it's open for tours, houses a museum and hosts several art galleries.

Often considered the world's first penitentiary, Eastern State revolutionized incarceration systems by establishing a policy of solitary confinement and stressing rehabilitation instead of punishment.

For a while, Eastern State Penitentiary was the home of famous bank robber Willie Sutton and infamous gangster Al Capone.

Operators suggest you bring a camera as the penitentiary is very photogenic. However, you will need to buy a permit if you wish to bring a tripod.

You can find Eastern State Penitentiary at 2124 Fairmount Avenue.

7. Philadelphia Zoo

Opened in 1874, the Philadelphia Zoo was the first of its kind in America-of course just about everything in Philadelphia was a first for its country.

Today, the 42-acre parcel of land is home to more than 1,300 animals and attracts over a million visitors a year.

Besides the cute critters, many of which are rare or endangered, the zoo also offers visitors a chance to see John Penn's home, The Solitude. John was the grandson of William Penn, Pennsylvania's founder.

6. Academy of Natural Sciences

Like most things in Philadelphia, the Academy of Natural Sciences is old. It was founded in 1812 and opened its doors to the public in 1828. The academy is the oldest natural sciences institution in the Western Hemisphere.

Situated on the corner of 19th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the academy features permanent exhibits about dinosaurs, wildlife, and butterflies. Overall, the academy has a collection of over 17 million biological specimens.

Rotating displays of featured research material is another academy attraction. Their library contains hundreds of thousands of priceless scientific documents.

5. Philadelphia Museum of Art

You'll tell your friends that you're going to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to see a Hieronymus Bosch or a Rubens but you're actually going to do your best Rocky impersonation.

Despite being one of the largest and most renowned art museums in the U.S., it's mostly known for Rocky Balboa running up the its steps in all of the Rocky movies (except for Rocky IV).

The Main Building houses over 200 galleries featuring works from Renaissance Masters and French Impressionists.

The modern Perelman Building with its Art Deco façade provides extra space to display collections never before seen at the museum. The Perelman also features state-of-the-art visitor amenities.

Both buildings are closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the Fourth of July. Admission to the Main Building cost twice as much as admission to the Perelman but the first Sunday of every month is "pay what you wish day."

The Philadelphia Museum of Art was established in 1876 and now contains more than 225,000 objects and artifacts.

4. Rittenhouse Square

Rittenhouse Square is a park in Center City, Philadelphia. Its boundaries are defined by 18th Street (East), Walnut Street (North), Rittenhouse Square West (South) and Rittenhouse Square South (West).

It has several claims to fame. It was one of the five original parks planned by William Pen and unlike other squares in Philadelphia it was never used as a cemetery.

The neighborhood surrounding the park contains the Curtis Institute of Music, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, and the Rosenbach Museum & Library. There's also a Barnes & Noble book store nearby.

This beautiful park, filled with trees and surrounded by majestic high rise buildings, is just one of several great public areas belonging to the city's municipal park system known as Fairmont Park.

This organization oversees 63 regional and neighborhood parks within Philadelphia. Its parks cover more than 9,200 acres (New York's Central Park is only 843 acres).

These parks offer several activities besides walking and relaxing such as horseback riding, tennis, golf and boating.

In addition to Rittenhouse square, Fairmont Park also includes the Centennial Arboretum, the Fairmont Water Works, and Bartram's Garden.

3. South Philadelphia Sports Complex

Philadelphians love their sports and the city is famous for its passionate and tough fans.

The city is home to a number of collegiate and minor league teams as well as franchises in each of the four main North American pro leagues.

The Eagles of the NFL play at Lincoln Financial Field. Major League Baseball's Phillies take the field at Citizens Bank Park and the NBA's 76'ers and the NHL's Flyers both play at the Wachovia Center.

All these venues are located within the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. You can find the complex between South Broad Street and South Darien Street near Pattison Avenue.

Philadelphia is one of the few cities to have all of its major sports team play within the city limits. In fact, the convenient sports complex places all three venues within mere blocks of one another.

Seeing a big-time professional game in the City of Brotherly Love is quite an experience for both sports fans and non-sports fans alike.

2. The Gallery at Market East

Located next to several historical attractions, and situated in the heart of the city, is one of Philadelphia's premier shopping destinations, The Gallery at Market East.

Parking garages for the gallery can be found on 10th Street and 12th Street. The official address for the shopping center is 9th and Market. The gallery contains 130 stores and two international food courts.

Another urban retail center is The Shops at Liberty Place located in Center City's downtown business district. The main entrance is at the corners of 16th/17th and Chestnut and the 1600 block of Market Street. The entire complex resides between the Liberty One and the Liberty Two office towers.

1. Cheesesteaks

There are several foods associated with the city of Philadelphia but none are more famous than the cheesesteak.

The two best cheesesteak restaurants in town are located across the street from each other, Geno's Streaks and Pat's King of Steaks.

Pat's was founded in 1930 and Geno's began serving customers in 1966. Both are open 24 hours a day.

Don't tell them this but their respective sandwiches are very similar although Pat's chops up its meat and Geno's does not.

At Pat's, which technically doesn't sell cheesesteaks but "cheese sandwiches," it's important to know how to order. Fortunately, there's a sign providing instructions. It explains exactly what "cheese wit" and "cheese wit-out" means.

Philadelphia has a lot to offer tourists. Yes, Philadelphia has its share of tourist traps but they're not designed to pry visitors away from their money, their designed to give them a true Philadelphia experience.

Holiday Choices in Florida by Mark Bartley

There is no doubt that the majority of travellers flying to the destination hubs of Orlando, Florida intend to visit one or more of the huge theme parks in the area. A few days at Disney's World Resort, Epcot or Universal Studios is certainly an exciting event for all family members, young or old. Even if you think your age makes a chance meeting with Mickey Mouse a little too childish, then there is always the amazing visitor experience at the Kennedy Space Centre which is open all year round except on Christmas Day and certain days when a launch is underway. Most of the main Disney parks are located to the south west of Orlando city, whereas the Kennedy Space Centre and the nearby Cape Canaveral are situated over 40 miles to the East. Regardless of the ultimate destination, the airports in Orlando and nearby Sandford both provide options, with daily flights from various departure points arriving from the UK.

From 1963 Cape Canaveral was renamed Cape Kennedy in memory of the former US President who had supported the space programme that brought renewed industrial and tourist activity to the area. However later on the local residents objected to the loss of their previous name, which had identified the region for the past 400 years, and, ten years after being given the Kennedy name, the Canaveral name was reapplied. The actual NASA Space Centre did however retain the Kennedy name.

Most tourists stick to the East coast but in the West you can explore areas like the hillscapes around San Antonio for cycling or walking activities. More adventurous sportsmen and women may want to take to the skies for some freefall parachuting. Clear skies and reliable fine weather have made Florida the perfect location for parachuting and skydiving, with numerous clubs, schools and experience companies operating in the state. Why not make your trip to Florida a truly memorable one by signing up for a tandem freefall jump. Florida is one of only a few places in the world that offer high-altitude jumps. One company even offers jumps from 18,000 feet (that's 8,000 feet higher than a normal UK jump) overlooking the Kennedy Space Centre. Now that's something to write a postcard home about!

For a real Florida getaway why not take a short onward to flight to the islands of Little Abaco or Great Abaco. Officially part of the Bahamas, these islands lie less than 130 miles off the Florida coast and provide perfect places to find a little solitude and relaxation. The islands are renowned for their reef-protected sandy beaches, shallow waters, gentle breezes and laid-back lifestyle. Most tourists will remark on the friendliness of the islanders as a primary reason for wanting to return. The small airports of Treasure Cay and Marsh Harbour serve the islands, although a short boat trip is required to get across to Little Abaco.

Other Florida cities include Tampa and the glitzy Miami, home of the typical Florida beach holiday, with miles and miles of Atlantic coastline to enjoy. A trip to Miami would not be complete without a cruise down Ocean Drive, Miami's most famous road. Drive through the Art district to appreciate hundreds of well-preserved Art Deco buildings. Hotels like the Leslie, the Crescent and the Shoreclub revive memories of a post-war revival Britain, that the legacy of poor construction techniques and the ravages of the UK weather have all but destroyed. Those with a generous budget will want to stay at the famous Delano Hotel which was built in 1947 and features an interior designed by Philippe Starck.

Each year Miami hosts the Winter Music Conference, a week-long dance music festival that aims to put Miami right up there with the dance scenes of places like Ibiza in Europe. Many of the world's top dance music acts, DJ's and producers attend the conference, which now incorporates the industry's International Dance Music Awards. Miami is an all year round resort and even during October you can expect around six hours of daily sunshine, amazingly the lowest of any month during the year. Daytime temperatures remain at an average of 29 degrees Celsius, something nowhere in Europe can claim.

Playa Del Carmen, A Perfect Place For a Caribbean Dream by David H. Urmann

Playa del Carmen is the fastest growing tourist destination in Mexico today. In just a decade, this once small fishing settlement developed to a trendy town resort.

Playa del Carmen is a world renowned tourist destination in Mexico. It is located about 35 miles south of Cancun in the heart of Mayan Riviera. This small city at the coast of Caribbean Sea was just a fishing town a decade ago. In a span of ten years, it has become a paradise for those pursuing their Caribbean dreams.

This place is known for its stunning, white sand beaches. With its subtropical climate, visitors are coming over to see for themselves what Playa has to offer. It is a small city just walking distance to the beach. Wherever you go, you will feel the cool breeze coming from the ocean.

The main street that runs parallel to the beach is the 5th Avenue. This street is being referred to as pedestrian walkway. It is also the tourists' zone of Playa. Along 5th Avenue are hotels, restaurants, and bars. Stores offering different items are also present within the area. Latest clothing trends from Europe can be bought since a lot of European businesspeople have already snowed under the city. During nighttime, music of different rhythm echoes within the area and exclusive bars, usually found on the beach.

The stunning beaches of Playa are perfect for a nice, relaxing swimming. Aside from swimming, the white sand offers you a great opportunity for activities such as windsurfing, snorkeling, kite surfing, and other water activities.

You can also go to nearby ecological and water parks. These recreation centers offer fun and adventure like swimming in underground rivers, cave diving and forest trekking. If you are looking for a wonderful spot to dive, you can take a boat to get to the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest coral reef system. It is 33 feet deep, very ideal for scuba diving.

Playa del Carmen has many fine dining places too. There are a lot of restaurants ready to serve you in a memorable dining experience. They serve French, American and Italian dishes. Mexican restaurants are mostly outside 5th Avenue.

If you are the type of person who always likes to shop, Playa is the place for you. Shops, jewelry outlets, boutiques, as well as assorted kinds of stores are here. Banks, pharmacies, supermarkets and other establishments are located downtown and nearby. You can also take a look at the New 5th Avenue, the continuation of the old 5th Avenue.

There are also choices of hotels, restaurants and shops here. Outside 5th Avenue, you can find stores selling inexpensive items. In fact, between 5th and 30th Avenue, located are all interesting stores selling everything you can think of. You can also buy all the latest trends in fashion here.

Playa del Carmen is also a place for meeting new people, getting to know other culture and understanding them. At night, people of all ages, all races and all languages are coming together to experience all the wonderful things Playa del Carmen has to offer. No wonder, visitors are coming over and over again.

To some people, Playa del Carmen is a perfect place for fun and enjoyment. To others, it is place where they can realize the fulfillment of their dreams. Still, for most people who have seen and experienced what this wonderful place has in store for them, Playa is a place they can call home.

The New Tenerife Awaits by Mark Bartley

It's almost as if Tenerife designed the model of mass tourism. For twenty years millions of visitors came to the island to take advantage of its year-round warm weather and low cost holiday options. During the 1990's significant levels of foreign investment was poured into the island and whole resorts sprang up quickly to cater for the demands of increasing tourist volumes. Massive hotels together with endless lines of bars and restaurants could barely cope with the numbers of visitors. By 2001 over 10 million people were coming to the Canary Islands, almost all of them arriving by air. This created the need for larger more modern airports and new terminals buildings were built. That peak in 2001 has never been repeated but Tenerife and the other islands have remained a favoured travel destination for Spanish, German and UK tourists ever since. Until 2009 that is.

The shock of a 15 percent reduction in visitor numbers has been difficult to adjust to on an island that relies so much on tourism and related services. The travel industry makes up a third of the island's commercial activity and the poor figures for 2009 have placed around a quarter of the island's population out of work.

The reasons for the big drop in tourists are fairly clear. The global recession has hit every country, including the three that provide the bulk of Tenerife's visitors, but another factor has made things even harder. The strong Euro has made the cost of holidays in the euro-zone countries increase by almost 50 per cent. This is a situation affecting not just Tenerife, but also other destinations around Europe, but the island and it's neighbours of Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura are particularly reliant of UK holiday traffic.

But the change in fortunes for this holiday destination is being taken as an opportunity for modernisation and reinvention by some businesses. Perhaps for the first time in twenty years shutting down their businesses for much-needed repairs and modernisations will not cost them too much in lost revenue. The slowdown could just be perfect timing, with many hotels still running with facilities and décor that may have been fashionable in 1990, but not today. Tired and worn hotel rooms, that have each welcomed thousands of visitors over the years can finally be given a new makeover.

Some hotels have already taken the decision to target completely different market sectors. Perhaps they already realise that the mass-market discount sector may never be the same as it one was, and that the future generations of holidaymakers will be lower in number, but more discerning and prepared to spend more on their holidays for better accommodation and service.

When the financial pressures ease and the tourist numbers start to build back up again, the businesses on Tenerife will experience a new level of competition. Theirs is little doubt that things will improve, particularly because resorts that have an all year holiday climate like the Canaries are few and far between.

With some foresight it seems the authorities on the island have been preparing for exactly the situation they find themselves in. Even with reductions in revenues from business rates, additional investment is being made in transport infrastructure and public areas are being improved. There is little doubt that this would not be possible unless the authorities had budgeted for them in advance. The island is not prepared to let go of its main commercial activity without a fight.

The tourists that come to Tenerife in the future may find a quieter location, but an improved one for that. Beaches will be cleaner and better looked after, restaurants will deliver higher quality food with better service and there are likely to be more luxury hotels that ever before. The primary market is still likely to be those seeking an averaged priced holiday, but there may be a new style of tourist coming to Tenerife. Wealthy tourists from Russia and other areas less affected by the recent financial situation are more likely to venture down to the Canaries for a winter sun holiday, whereas in the past they could have visited places like Egypt and Dubai for their winter breaks.
