Enchanting beauty of lush green hill station, pristine backwaters, silvery beaches, rich wild life and vibrant culture makes Kerala one of the most beautiful destinations of the world. The rich scenic beauty honoured this place with the title of 'Gods own Country'. The 600 km long shoreline gifted Kerala with some of the finest beaches of the world. These pristine beaches are indispensable part of the Kerala Tour. Beaches in Kerala provide the most tempting combination of sun, sand, sea and surf which is irresistible for any beach lover and water sport adventurer.

Fascinating Attractions:

Varkala: It is a calm and quiet hamlet located on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram district. This beach is famous for its scenic beauty of silvery sand which is guarded by the unending row of tall palm trees. The Sivagiri Mutt, century old Vishnu temple and hot water spring are prominent places of this beach that hold tourist attention. The beach is also referred as 'Papanasam beach' because of a belief that a dip in the holy water of this beach eliminates body impurities and sins. The curative properties of the hot water spring of this beach helped in emergence of some of the world famous Ayurvedic Treatment Centres near it. These health centres are popular places of tourists who are in search of complete rejuvenation of body, mind and soul.

Muzhapilangad Beach: This is four kilometres long calm and serene beach which is known for its peaceful location. This secluded beach attracts tourist to explore the calmness of nature. Huge black rocks scattered at this place protect it from the deep currents and form a tranquil pool of shallow waters which is a swimmer's paradise. This is a long clean beach with an array of enchanting ambience that invites tourists to swim, sunbathe or just laze around. It is Kerala's only drive-in beach, where one can drive through the entire length of the beach.

Kovalam Beach: Kovalam is internationally renowned for its three bow-shaped beaches which are separated by the rocky mountains. The largest beach is known as Light House Beach because of its 35 metre high lighthouse, situated on Kurumkal hillock. The second largest one is Hawah Beach. It was the first topless beach in India but now topless bathing has been banned here. And the third is Samudra Beach which is famous among the local fishermen of Kovalam. This beach is famous for diverse-sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes, water sports activities etc.
